New Windows based Connection Assistant Software launched!

We have now completed the re-development on the VPNUK Connection Software for PPTP and L2TP/IPSec connections and have have added the setup guide to the website for all Windows based O/S. The software is compatible with all versions Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 running through both the Windows 32 Bit and 64 Bit architecture.

The new 'Self Updating' server list on the re-developed connection assistant software now makes it easier to administer your VPNUK account and switch servers when carried out in conjunction with the 'Switch Servers' feature in the Client CP. We have a self updating server list which includes information concerning the server location and server connection speed.

New Switzerland Dedicated IP Server Launched!

We are pleased to announce the launch of our first VPNUK 1:1 Dedicated IP server based in Switzerland.

So what is the 1:1 server?
The VPNUK 1:1 Dedicated IP account is setup on a Swiss based server! This server is offers users a true 1:1 connection, this permits incoming traffic so it's perfect for running applications and services that require an incoming connection. This account is ideal for Home servers, FTP servers, Gaming Servers, VOIP Servers and a whole host of other services that require unrestricted incoming connections. You can now receive unlimited high speed access to our Switzerland based server and enjoy complete 1:1 business grade anonymity and security with a totally unque, static VPNUK IP address based in Switzerland!

Due to the 1:1 configuration of this server it is physically impossible for us to allow multi user or simultaneous user access over individual connections through NAT in the same way that we do on all others VPNUK servers.

VPNUK Proxy Service Launched!

After numerous requests we have now launched the VPNUK Proxy Service on all VPNUK servers. If you do not require the additional security of a VPN connection you are now able to connect to your VPNUK account through a standard web browser proxy service. We have enabled the Proxy Service on all VPNUK servers. As with our VPN service, clients on our Shared IP accounts are always provided with a randomly assigned Dynamic IP address when connected to the VPNUK servers. Clients on our specially designed Dedicated IP accounts are always assigned their totally unique, static IP address.

We have launched the Proxy Service after continual requests from clients looking for a simplified service that works with the more normal day to day services like Facebook, You Tube and GMail from coutries that restrict access to these services. Some streaming media services like the BBCiPlayer and ITV Player in the UK along with services like FOX and NBC in the USA also work from behind the proxy service. Unfortunately due to the limitations of the web proxy service it is not possible to use services that require traffic to be run through a TCP/IP protocol, services which require that kind of configuration are VoIP services like Skype, and VoIP Stunt, P2P services like Bit Torrent and some streaming media services like Zattoo, Voddler, Hulu and 4oD.

Setting up the Proxy service is simple, quick and very easy to customise to your specific requirements, you are able to run custom commands and also route specific traffic outside the proxy server. For more information on how to setup the Proxy Service on your computer or device click here.

New server added to the network!

After a long and careful search for a top quality datacentre based in Ireland we are now very pleased to announce the launch of our very first VPN server based in Dublin. Accounts are now available for order and are also available to all existing clients in the Client CP.

Client CP now offers automated account renewals!

As part of our ongoing service enhancements we have recently enabled automated account renewals for all clients on our Shared IP servers. You can now login to the Client CP and instantly renew accounts when paying for the service through Paypal. After completing the renewal process at PayPal all accounts will now automatically renew.

Tunnelblick Security Announcement

Jonathan K. Bullard the developer of Tunnelblick has contacted us today with a Tunnelblick security announcement. A bug causing an exploitable security problem exists in most Tunnelblick versions before 3.1.1. It allows an unprivileged user to gain root privileges on any Mac OS X system with a vulnerable version of Tunnelblick installed. All users of Tunnelblick are advised to update to the latest version. OpenVPN - New ports added

In order to reduce the risk of possible port blocking by some internet service providers we have increased the possible number of OpenVPN connections to four! Its now possible to connect through OpenVPN on TCP port 80 as well as port 443 and UDP port 65194 as well as the default OpenVPN port 1194!

Dedicted IP Accounts - OpenVPN Compatibility

We are pleased to announce that all VPNUK Dedicated IP accounts are now fully compatible with OpenVPN connections. With our specially designed Dedicated IP accounts, clients are provided with their very own 'totally unique' IP address originating in either the UK or USA. Once logged into the VPNUK servers you are allocated your own static IP address, it never changes, and it is never shared.

'Until now only the VPNUK Shared (Dynamic) IP accounts have been compatible with OpenVPN connections which made our Dedicated IP accounts out of reach for some clients, that is not the case anymore!'

We have re-configured all Dedicated IP servers so that connections over the ever popular OpenVPN protocol is now possible through TCP using port 443 and also UDP through ports 1194 and 65194. The stumbling block for these accounts in the past was assigning the unique IP address to the account once clients were logged in through OpenVPN. OpenVPN is available for download from our the website and is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Mac OSX, Linux and Android

OpenVPN Alternative UDP Port

In order to combat any ISP port restrictions on UDP/1194 we have also made it possible for you to connect to OpenVPN through port 65194 on UDP connections. OpenVPN is available for download from our website along with full setup instructions and tutorials for Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Mac OSX, Linux and Android.

Server Relocation - Frankfurt to Stutgart

An important network update is due to take place on servers DE2 and DE3 on Friday, November 5, starting from 11.30pm CET for approximately 8 hours. Both servers will be unavailable at this time whilst they are moved to a new datacentre situated in Stutgart. If you have an account on DE2 or DE3 and require access between these times please login to the Client CP and switch over to DE1 or any other server between the hours of 11.30pm and 8am.

New Server Location - Manchester

We are pleased to announce the arrival of two new UK based servers located in Manchester. These servers are the first of many to be situated in this brand new, state of art datacentre. Client Control Panel Launched

We are pleased to announce the launch of the long awaited Client Control Panel for clients on our Shared IP servers. All clients are now able to view their account information, change their account login password and switch between any of the VPNUK servers at any time.

A link to access the CLIENT CP is available at the very top right of every page.

Over the coming few weeks more additions will be added to the Client CP which includes the highly anticipated VPNUK partner program where clients will be able to become affilates of the VPNUK service.

New Server Launched - ITALY

We are pleased to announce the launch of a brand new server in a new country for VPNUK. Our First Italian server based in Milan is now Live and ready for clients to login to.

PayPal Subscription Issue

There have been a few reports of subscriptions being wrongly cancelled by PayPal this week. If this has happened or happens to you please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused by the PayPal system, your account will not be closed without us first notifying you.

Our system is programmed to automatically email all clients with one-off payments and cancelled subscriptions 24 hours before their accounts are due for renewal. The automated emails contain account information along with a link and instructions for how to renew the VPNUK account should you wish to do so.
